Error message

Hi all,

During starting, and at each picture change, a error message pop up:

Error in subDisplayPic(). File name = D:\ ... (folders\picture file name.jpg)
Source:CRegistry:ReadValue
Error -2147221505 - Failed to read value Wallpaper from Registry.

All the picture on the selected folders are .jpg
I have one main folder, with several subdirectories, but as I selected "display files in subdirectories too" it should not be an issue.

Somebody have an idea ?

Hello. Sorry to hear you're having a problem. I need to check a few things with you:

Does the desktop picture display OK despite the error or does nothing happen?

Can you tell me the current value of the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\wallpaper?

What operating system are you using?

My computer run with windows XP, I am affraid I don't know how to look at the value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\wallpaper

But I remove the freeware and reinstall it, and it works good now

Hi Steve,

I am sorry to have to come to you once again, but my trouble comes back.
I tried to find what could be the root cause and I had two hypotheses to submit:

1 - My files are organised by directories, then sub-directories, sub-sub dir ... (one for each year, then one per quarters, then one per month and one per subject). I really think that your soft take in account this kind of organisation, but could you please just confirm?

2 - I am French, and most of my files and directories used special characters (such as é or à ...). I know that some soft don't like these kind of characters (I had the same trouble with video games, Tomb Raider for example) and it seems to me that it's a most probable cause of my problem, do you agreed ?

Can anybody help me? I get the error Source:Changer Error 339-Component "mscomctl.ocx" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. I've tried reinstalling the program but still doesn't fix the problem any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I tried to find the information you required some time ago :

Can you tell me the current value of the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\wallpaper?

In fact I found 3 values :
WallpaperOriginX : REG_SZ : 446
WallpaperOriginY : REG_SZ : 0
WallpaperStyle : REG_SZ : 0

I hope it will help you to solv my trouble
